Jeff Crank, President
In addition to his role as Aegis President, Jeff hosts The Jeff Crank Show, the number one rated Saturday show in southern Colorado on Colorado’s 740 KVOR.
Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Americans for Prosperity and, prior to that, as the Colorado State Director of AFP, a grassroots free-market, free-enterprise organization. He is also an entrepreneur, President of his own real estate investment company.
He was a candidate for U.S. Congress in the 5th Congressional District Republican Primary in 2008 and 2006. Jeff has served as Vice President, Government Sales for XAware Corporation, a data integration company, and previously served as the Senior Vice President for Governmental Affairs for the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Jeff served on the Washington staff of U.S. Congressman Joel Hefley from 1991-1998 where he focused on military issues and served as the Administrative Director. During this time he helped author several pieces of legislation, including the Military Family Housing Privatization Act and legislation to stop the transfer of U.S. missile technology to China.
Crank has served as President of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition and on the board of Life Network. Jeff enjoys pheasant and big game hunting throughout the Western United States with his favorite hunting buddies – his son, Joel, and his dog, Indy – a great friend and fierce hunting Hungarian Vizsla. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, who has put up with him for over two decades, and his daughter, Jessica, who melts his heart.
Karl Crow, Lead Strategist
A founding staff member of Aegis, Karl was formerly senior analyst with Themis, heading up the strategy development and implementation efforts in concert with the End-User, Data and Modeling teams.
Prior to Themis, Karl was a Project Coordinator at the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, focusing on how political advocates for economic freedom are identified, trained and promoted. He is also a 2008-2009 graduate of the Koch Associate Program, and has experience both on Capitol Hill and K Street.
A published writer, Karl holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the George Washington University and a juris doctor from Temple University.
Alan Philp, Chief Operating Officer
Alan is a seasoned political and public affairs operative with 20 years of experience running candidate and issue campaigns in 18 states. He specializes in project management and tactical implementation.
Alan is well-known in conservative circles and among Republican political operatives, has strong relationships at each of the national Republican political committees, and has worked with several of the leading conservative policy and policy organizations. A former Policy Director to Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Deputy Chief of Staff to Colorado Governor Bill Owens, he is also well-versed in state and federal policy.
In addition to his role with Aegis Strategic, Alan serves as a Partner with CAP Public Affairs (which he helped found in 2011) and the digital advocacy firm WholeCrowd, LLC (which he helped found in 2012).
During the 2010 election cycle, Alan served as Regional Political Director for the Republican National Committee, overseeing a nine-state region in the Southwest, North Dakota and Alaska. In 2007-08, he served as Regional Political Director for the Romney for President primary campaign, overseeing a 10-state region that included Florida and several states in which Romney was victorious, including Colorado, North Dakota and Alaska. His experience with the RNC and the Romney campaigns equips him with a wealth of political and professional contacts in nearly 20 states.
Alan previously served as Executive Director of the Colorado Republican Party, ran one of the first large 527 political efforts in the post-McCain-Feingold era, served as Research Director for the Republican media firm Murphy Pintak Gautier Hudome Agency, and served as Research Director for Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform.
A native of San Jose, California, Alan received his Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of California, Davis, and earned a Master’s in Political Science from The American University in Washington, D.C.
Brad Stevens, Director of Candidate Identification
Formerly an Americans for Prosperity State Director and National Advisory Committee official, Brad has managed multi-million dollar issue advocacy projects that shaped policy at the federal and local levels. Having appeared on FOX News, CNN, and countless radio and print media outlets, Brad has the experience to help clients build a successful campaign strategy. Brad has built extensive networks of grassroots activists and grasstops support for clients, thanks to years of work as a senior staff member for congressional and local political campaigns.
Brad is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and recently completed his Masters of Public Administration degree from Bellevue University.
Aaron Greenberg, Political Analyst
Before joining Aegis, Aaron worked as a Research Analyst for the polling firm Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research during the 2012 election cycle.
Aaron received his bachelors in political science and history from the University of Buffalo, as well as a graduate certificate from the University of Albany’s Rockefeller College.
An Upstate New York native, Aaron longs for home’s snow and unmatched chicken wings.
Christina Van Horn, Political Analyst
Prior to joining Aegis, Christina received her undergraduate and master’s degrees at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where she studied Policy Analysis and Public Finance. Christina is an avid Hoosier sports fan.
